Hustle and Bustle (Christmas Blog Entry for Computer II)

"But I still have one wish to make, a special one for you..."

For years, I have been making essays, poems, compositions, and illustrations about Christmas and sometimes, on how I celebrated it. Most of the time, I respond with the same answer: I have spent it the most joyfully as I can. You may want to ask why. The only answer that I will be giving is "Why not?". Every person has his own interpretation on what and how to celebrate Christmas, right? Christmas, for me, is just a reminder of the birth of Jesus. That is the main idea of the celebration. Many families, especially Filipinos, blend it with traditions and culture. For example, many families always have ham and quezo de bola every Christmas. I keep wondering if most of them actually like quezo de bola. These traditions were passed down from generation to generation. I guess Filipinos have a way to keep those traditions burning even if many problems partake in their lives. Well, it is not so surprising because of the fact that Filipinos are so hospitable and kind in many ways.

The expression, "You cannot find the true spirit of Christmas under a tree.", is absolutely true. Philippines is a developing country. Filipinos are becoming fast-paced by the minute. In these conditions, Filipinos still find time to celebrate traditionally. Including their day-time jobs, they still find time to attend and complete the Night Masses. This shows the Filipinos' undying faith. For the past months, I've been saving up for Christmas. I guess many of my friends did too. Gift-giving has been a "annual tradition" especially for high school students. We care less about what we would receive. We just receive it and thank the person wholeheartedly. The smallest gift can bring the biggest smile. We live on that saying. That is how I spent the whole Christmas season.

Christmas Gift Idea #3

This occurred to me on our own Christmas Party. BOOKS. Even though it seems pretty boring, but it is actually a really practical gift. How about giving out novels by Lynne Ewing or Lauren Kate? Or, maybe a "For Dummies" book would suffice for someone's hobby? Many book stores sell very affordable selections. I love shopping for books on National Bookstores, Powerbooks, and Booksales.

Christmas Gift Idea #2

The dawn of the popularity of stuffed toys is slowly fading because people these days ought to have something that they can actually bring anywhere, anytime, anyplace. So I suggest KEY CHAINS. Portable, occupies little space, plus, very affordable! Another advantage of buying key chains is that it is available in millions of stores and with billions of designs. Nevertheless, you can always customize your own design to add thoughtfulness. Not only does it adds character to your stuffs, but it can also fit your hobbies or simple likes. It is also available in pairs!

Christmas Gift Idea #1

One word. BALLERS. A friend gave me one just this day! I got fascinated by the message and the thought presented by it. Who would have thought that a very simple thing could mean a thousand words? You can buy these at many retail and online shoppes. Pretty cheap too. There are also couple ballers for your "SPECIAL SOMEONE". So romantic, right?

Christmas Vacation Part 1

It is the end of 2010! As Christmas hastily approaches, students get ready to jump mountain high to celebrate and, of course, enjoy the Christmas vacation. Teachers, also, would probably enjoy and recover from everyday stress from the headaches students may bring.

As Christmas comes, we can't forget about the New Year! Another year of exciting and gallant experiences waiting to occur. New Year resolutions, also, slowly becoming a tradition between individuals. But, do everyone who makes resolutions and promises to abide by it, actually accomplish those promises? Well, I don't want to be an over pessimist! It's Christmas!

To all of this, I might post some holiday gift ideas so watch out for it!

Review?

As the teachers' favorite saying goes, never let time catch up to you. This is the last week of classes before the ever-waited Christmas vacation starts! Bad luck for students like us, we need to survive 2 days of examination. So, crack up the books boys and girls, so that your approach for the new year would be regret less.
